The Fisherman of our hearts invites us to draw near
by Sister Lynne Marie Simonich
In our Gospel for this Third Sunday of Easter the risen Jesus appears to his disciples for the third time. He stands on the shore and they see him from their boats. Peter is so excited that he jumps into the water and swims to shore. Once they all reach the shore Jesus calls them to “Come, have breakfast." The charcoal fire is ready and they join Jesus.
Jesus visits his friends in familiar places. Imagine that you are with the disciples. You hear Jesus call your name. He says to you, “Come, have breakfast." How would you feel? What would you say to Jesus as you share this meal?
As we continue our journey through this Easter Season may we be filled with new hope and experience the joy and peace that the risen Jesus offers to us.
