God can mold us into the messengers the world needs today
by Sister Lynne Marie Simonich
As we begin the season of Advent, the Prophet Isaiah reminds us that our God is a “potter” and we are the “clay”. Potters use their creativity and great patience as their hands prepare clay to fashion and mold their works of art. Sometimes the item they create might not be as perfect as they hoped but they continue.
We are beginning a new liturgical year of grace and blessings. Are we willing to trustfully place ourselves into God’s hands to be formed (reformed) into vessels bringing God’s word, love and joy into our fractured world? God never tires of molding and shaping our lives, holding us gently but firmly as we begin our Advent journey in expectation and hope.
Thank you for leading us into the Advent season. We are invited to let God mold and shape our lives. This is the season of expectation and hope.
