On Jan. 16, 2020, Sister Rose Jochmann, chair of the Community’s Sustainability Committee and member of the Community’s Leadership Team, received the 2019 Renewable Energy Catalyst of the Year Award. She received the award at the RENEW Wisconsin 2020 Renewable Energy Summit in Madison.
Sister Rose was recognized for the leadership and vision she provided to our Community which led to the original installation and recent expansion of the Community’s solar array. The solar array produces renewable energy for the Sisters’ Motherhouse and provides a path and signage to educate the public about clean energy.
This award recognized that, though the projects were a Community effort, Sister Rose’s untiring efforts and commitment made the dream a reality. Her multiple presentations to groups continue to spread the message of the benefits of clean energy for the sake of all living things and the Earth.
Celebrating this special recognition with Sister Rose were Sister Marietta Samz and Sister Mary Kabat, members of the Sustainability Committee; and Sister Nancy Langlois, Community Vice President. Jesse Michalski, contractor from Eland Electric of Green Bay who designed and oversaw the installation of the array, also attended the summit.
