COVID-19 entered our lexicon with a tsunami-like force in 2020. We now wear face masks and apply hand sanitizers. We call friends and family instead of visiting in person. Maybe we’ve learned to make a video call in our makeshift work-from-home office.
No matter how difficult these months have been, the season of Advent always invites us to joyfully prepare for the celebration of Jesus Incarnate. This can feel difficult, if not impossible, during this stressful time, particularly if you have lost a loved one to COVID-19.
To help remember God’s blessings of 2020, a team of Sisters and Associates will present three virtual evenings of reflection. They will be from 6:30 to 7:30 pm on Dec. 3, 10 and 17. The evenings will include:
DEC. 3 -- Registration has been closed for this past event.
- Opening prayer
- Presentation by Sister Joanne Goessl
- Personal reflection on a “gift” borne out of COVID-19, by Sister Agnes Fischer and Associate Rose Denissen
- Closing prayer
DEC. 10 -- (register here by Dec. 6)
- Opening prayer
- Presentation by Sister Jane Riha
- Personal reflection on a “gift” borne out of COVID-19, by Sister Lynne Marie Simonich and Associate Jan Irwin
- Closing prayer
DEC. 17 (register here by Dec. 13)
- Opening prayer
- Presentation -- Sister Elise Cholewinski
- Personal reflection on a “gift” borne out of COVID-19, by Sister Ruth Ann LaBine and Associate Jane Gerlach
- Closing prayer
Each evening is free; however, registration is required so we can send the event link and details to you. Also required are a strong, stable internet connection and Zoom application software, which is free and does not require creating an account. Additional Zoom instructions are here.
May God bless you and your loved ones abundantly as we wait and remember Emanuel, God is with us.
